Mel’s statement for Emma being appointed:
Emma’s statement for being appointed:
I’m incredibly grateful for the trust placed in me as Interim CEO. I’m excited to continue strengthening our partnerships and build on the exceptional work Mel has championed. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team as we continue to improve the lives of children and families across our community.
I’m so pleased that Emma will be stepping into the role of Interim, and I’m looking forward to working closely together over the next two months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. She’ll be joining me at meetings and connecting with as many of our partners as possible, helping to ensure continuity and a strong path forward.
While it’s bittersweet to be leaving Roberts Centre after more than 11 incredible years, I couldn’t be happier to be handing over the reins to someone I trust and respect. I’m confident the organisation will be in very good hands.
Statement from the Board.
The Trustees of the Roberts Centre are pleased to welcome Emma Gibb as Interim Chief Executive. While we fully understand the reasons behind Mel’s decision to return to Manchester due to family commitments, we were naturally disappointed to see her step down. We are grateful for the significant progress she has made during her time with us. Emma will take up the role from 1 April and will serve until a permanent Chief Executive is appointed. Her application and vision for the role have given the Trustees great confidence that the strong momentum established under Mel’s leadership will continue with renewed energy and focus. Emma brings substantial management experience, shares the values at the heart of the Roberts Centre, and is committed to ensuring that those who rely on our services continue to receive support of the highest possible standard. Over the coming weeks, she will work closely with Mel to ensure a smooth and effective handover.
