| Birth To Three Matters
The Birth to Three Matters Framework is an under threes curriculum set by the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) to support children’s learning in their earliest years.
We use the Birth to Three Matters Framework to provide a varied curriculum that gives emphasis on the interaction from our adults with our children in order to support and enrich children’s play.
The Birth To three Matters Framework is split into four Aspects as areas of learning and each aspect is then made up of four Components (see table below) your child’s play activities are planned around each component of each aspect to help them achieve their full potential through play.

Activities
Our under three’s activities are planned monthly by your child’s key worker based upon your child’s individual needs. Our planned activities provide your child with many opportunities to build on their own experiences through well-planned play that is supported by the Birth To Three Matters Framework.
Observation
Your child will be observed every day by your key worker during activities and play, this allows your key worker to watch and record your child’s progress enabling them to differentiate activities around your child’s individual needs. The observations are then kept as part of your child’s progress pack.
Evaluation
Each activity that is planned for your child will also be evaluated at the end to see how well it met your child’s needs and to give an indication of additional activities that can be planned for your child as a ‘next step’. Your key worker revisits these evaluations during planning sessions
Your key worker will always be available to discuss your child’s development. You can request an allocated time to discuss your child’s progress with your key worker at any time.
