The centre employs a user involvement worker, this post was created in November 2005 and has since proved an exciting time for involving customers in the improvement of our services.
The User Involvement worker aims to reach all its customers across all services at the Centre and develop partnerships to ensure their voice is heard and responded to. User involvement opportunities at the centre include:
- Participating in surveys
- Being involved in recruitment
- Participating in exit interviews
- Reviewing policies and procedures
- Be part of a service user group
- Contribute to the planning and running of an Open day.
The people who access our services have valuable experiences, views and ideas therefore are in the best position to help us in evaluating the services and identify potential areas of improvement. It is important to listen to customer’s views so we can ensure we are delivering the best possible service.
Anyone who chooses to take part in user involvement activities will receive relevant training and support to enable them to carry out their role with confidence.
Being involved in service development can lead to other opportunities such as learning new skills, meeting others who share similar experiences, developing confidence and being involved in making important decisions about the services.
The User Involvement worker is an important role and will continue to obtain feedback from all our customers on how we can improve the delivery of services and be involved in how organisation is run as a whole.
