Preschool

The Roberts CentreThe layout of the preschool is set up covering the six main areas of Learning and Development. The Roberts Centre

  • Creative area,
  • Language lounge,
  • Role play area,
  • Quiet area,
  • Construction area
  • Knowledge and understanding area and computer area.

All areas are set on the child’s level with a wide range of positive and stimulating equipment accessible to the children promoting independence. We believe that making our environment accessible to all children builds self-esteem through independence helping our little learners to become confident and self-assured, learning by exploration.

Together the six areas make up the skills, knowledge and experiences appropriate for babies and children as they grow, learn and develop. We provide a wide range of activities which are planned weekly and based on your child’s individual needs.

During the Pre-school session as well as carrying out small group activities built around the children’s interest and individual needs we also have an ‘explore play time” which allows children to make choices about their play and plan their own play. During the ‘Free Play’ time the adult’s role is to support the child’s play and encourage progression. This helps children to learn by their own experiences and to make decisions and choices.
