About the Service
The Temporary Accommodation Service is provided in Partnership with Portsmouth City Council and is an alternative to Bed & Breakfast Accommodation for families that present as Homeless to Portsmouth City Council.

The Roberts CentreWho is it available to?
It is available to families that present as Homeless to Portsmouth City Council Housing Options Department. It is the Local Authorities decision as to whether this accommodation is made available to the presenting family.

What is on offer?

  • We offer a Management Service for 30 self contained 1, 2 & 3 beroom flats.
  • All properties are fully furnished and stocked.
  • We visit each family every day except 25th December
  • Free childcare places in the Roberts Day Nursery for children aged from birth to five Link to Nursery headings Page
  • Free Holiday Play scheme places for all children aged from five to thirteen Link to Play scheme Page listed in Housing tab with the other services offered.
  • We offer information advice and practical support such as: Registering with Doctors Schools etc, Settling in the neighbourhood, Advice on facilities in the area, Home management skills, Completing Benefit forms and maximising Income, Accessing alternative accommodation if required.

How does it work?
Families sign a licence agreement with Portsmouth City Council and contact us with details of the family requiring temporary accommodation and they will be placed in temporary accommodation the same day.

What does it cost?
Portsmouth City Council pays a daily rate for all flats that cover's our Management of the property. Portsmouth City Council claim Housing Benefit when properties are let. Some properties have a Service Charge for heating collected weekly and payable by the family.
