About the Service
The centre provides an activity based play scheme each school holiday throughout the year for children between the ages of 5 and 13 inclusive. The play scheme is Ofsted registered.
Who is it available to?
The play scheme is open to all children that at the time of each play scheme are living in temporary accommodation managed by the centre for Portsmouth City Council under the Temporary Accommodation Service. Subject to availability, the play scheme may be made available to children from families receiving other services from the centre.
What is on offer?
Each play scheme is different and organised activities are based outside the centre. The play scheme operates from 10.00-4.00 each weekday and the children are taken on activity based trips to museums, parks, places of interest and fun activities. We also have a Play scheme facility within the centre for indoor activities including arts and crafts for adverse weather conditions.
How does it work?
Each Play scheme all families currently living in Temporary Accommodation managed by the centre are contacted and encouraged to participate on the play scheme. Children are enrolled and can attend everyday subject to availability.
What does it cost?
Nothing to the families as the costs are covered by the centre as part of the Temporary Accommodation Service. Parents are responsible for providing packed lunches and drinks.
