Family Tenancy Support

The Family Tenancy Support Service supported families who were not living in PCC properties but who may be at risk of losing their homes.

Between 1st April 2022 – 30th September 2022 the service worked with 14 families to avoid homelessness.

Case Study

Emily, a single mum with two children, was referred to the service, at a stage when eviction processes had already been started due to the landlord wishing to sell their property. The Key Worker worked alongside Emily and the children, offering support and guidance through the eviction process and working with PCC Housing colleges to ensure a smooth resettlement in a PCC property. Support offered included finding appropriate funding and help completing applications to support with the move, soft furnishings, white goods and baby items for the new baby. The worker helped Emily to set up her new utility bills and to ensure she was getting all the benefits the family were entitled to including Disability Living Allowance to support one of the children’s needs. Emily and her children now live happily in a PCC property.
