What Is Contact?
“The staff are really nice and they help out when we need help.” – Contact child feedback
A child contact centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members. They are child centred environments that provide toys, games and facilities that reflect the diverse needs of children affected by family breakdown in a comfortable and safe environment.
Research tells us that children have better outcomes when they have contact with their non-resident parent.
When parents are no longer able to communicate, child contact centres and services provide a neutral place for children to meet the mother or father who no longer lives at home with them. We won’t take your partner’s side, but we won’t take your side either. We simply operate in the best interests of your child.
The centre is equipped with your child in mind, providing toys, games and facilities that reflect the diverse needs of children affected by family breakdown.
